if you are confused about these equations, here is something that could help you.
imagine that the + x on the left side of the equation (frenchy) wanted to go to the other side of the equation (US). First, they have to change to a US citizen, so they have change to a negative. After, they move to the other side and find the other x. They combine to make one x.
x+3=3x+9=x-3x+3=9

Other than that, today's class was harder, I admit it. It's almost 8th grade material but if you guys bear with me tomorrow you'll get over it! how did homework go?
Alison, I'll check homework for you in the morning and we'll miss you for the rest of the week. Homework tomorrow will be to make a review map for the test and that is a good way to review! I'll explain to you in the morning. No Hw on thursday and Friday after the test.

Ok sorry the problem was number 3, the problem is.....
3x+9=10x-5
the answer I got was 1 divided by 13.. something like that.. i messed up pretty bad I think
:)
If you subtract 10x from each side you get
-7x + 9 = -5
Than subtract 9
-7x = -5 -9 = -14
so finally x=2 :-)
